Sweet 16 milestone
My oldest just turned sixteen. on Oct. 6. We celebrated it like this: Go to store for new york style cheese cake, pick up balloons , candles that don't blow out, mom and talya go to Fred's and get rock band for Wii, call Dad to pick b-day girl up at 5:30 pm after swim practice, a friend drops by between 5:30 and 6:00 (thinks she has swime flu didn't go to school that day), we light candles, sing b-day song, cards get opened and read, smiles and hugs, leave at 5:55 with b-day girl for 50 minute mandolin lesson with a wonderful "old time woman fiddler", then b-day girl has to go to church for a mia maid meeting because she's president and has to be there 'til 8:30. Mom goes home and younger sis talya has the rock band stuff out of the box. I actually joined in and did some of the singing scoring in the high 90's (it obviously doesn't grade on whether a person can sing or not). Then when b-day girl got home talya and her stayed up later and played. They were tired the next day and so was I. Still am. Wonder why. It's a blur though. I took some picts hope to get them on the blog soon.

Departure for WA
We began the trek to sky harbor this morning. Just 2 miles down the road on the ironwood there were three policemen trying to get a bull (yes with horns and all) off the road. The were using what looked like a half-sheet of plywood like a matador does with a blanket. They had to stop traffic and when we passed them they were really having a good laugh about this.
We made it to the ariport without any probs given the high volume of traffic expected for a Monday morning commute.
Bye for now.
